States in India may have been divided due to linguistics, economic, development, or administrative factors. However, in reality if people visit any place in Madhya Pradesh (MP) from Chhattisgarh or vice versa, they don’t usually say we are going to MP or CG, people simply refer to the name of the city such as Bhopal, Gwalior, Raipur, Bhilai, or any other place in the two states. In the same way, when people in Telangana or Andhra Pradesh travel to any city in the two states, they don’t usually say we are going to Andhra or Telangana, people just refer to the name of the place such as Hyderabad, Eluru, Vijayawada (Bejawada), Visakhapatnam (Vizag), Tirupati, Ramagundam, Kurnool, Warangal, or any other place in the two states. People in Nellore in Andhra on a visit to Chennai or vice versa don’t say we are going to Tamil Nadu, they simply say we are going to Chennai or Nellore. People in Rayagada, Odisha on a visit to Vizianagaram or Vizag or vice versa don’t say I am going to Andhra, they simply say we are going to Vizianagaram or Vizag or Rayagada.
